Jeju Island and the Haenyeo divers

Originally for a travel poster juxtaposition of Jeju Island, the illustration is a recognition for the haenyeo divers, female deep-sea divers. Their strong teamwork and will to fish for seafood have been a long culture that remains today. Despite their tough grit, working at sea has risked many divers’ lives. They work even past their 60s to keep their families from starving.
